I am looking for 1-2 more players to fill in to a playgroup for a Dune 2d20 Campaign. The campaign is just beginning, so you will work with the other players to design your shared House and aims. The campaign itself will begin during the prelude period to the Harkonnen slaughter of House Atreides, though I make no promise that canon events will proceed as they did in the books, or even that their necessary preconditions have been met, especially if your House can somehow influence events. We will chalk it up to this being one of Paul's visions of alternate timelines, had only fate not conspired to place him on the path he finally chose.
Campaign Setting:
In this campaign, you will be living in the 'Duniverse,' as it is often called. If you have not read the original Dune novel or at least seen Parts 1 and 2 of the recent Villeneuve movies, then I recommend doing one or the other before playing this campaign, as some basic knowledge of the world of Dune would be pretty helpful to understand what's going on in the campaign.
Campaign Focus:
Ultimately, you will play as one of the many leading advisors of the House the playgroup designs. You can pick any role, except for the Ruler themself, in order to help not make one player just be "in charge" of the other players. Intrigues, diplomacy, espionage, and combat ranging from a one-on-one duel to entire military campaigns could ensue. It all depends on the choices of your House, and the reactions of your enemies.
Expectations:
+ Commitment: I'm looking for dedicated players who can commit to a regular schedule. Games are set for 7pm EST/EDT and are meant to run 3-4 hours. The ideal players are ones who make me the most unreliable player.
+ Communication: Good communication and respect for fellow players is vital. We'll be using Discord for voice chat, so a working microphone is necessary. In line with the previous point, you are also expected to communicate if you expect to be late or miss a game to the best of your ability.
+ Creativity: Bring your imagination and emotions to the table and help shape the story. Your choices and schemes are what will shape the story.
+ Cooperation: A cooperative mindset is essential the campaign's survival. Ultimately, your character should probably be loyal to your shared House, even if you scheme to gain greater position or power within it. Conflict with other players is possible, and permitted, as long as it is understood to be limited to internal factionalism, not downright betrayal of the House, unless you are prepared to change characters and have your old one become an NPC.
