Planejammer: Armageddon

Setup:

This is the third arc of a long term campaign, that has been going on for at least 3 years actively and more inactively in between.
Some of the current players have been playing it for both, some for only one of the arcs.
All of the current players have knowledge of the world and the plot.
However, as one of the players currently cannot play due to RL issues, we are looking for an extra player that might be interested in joining.
This would require being able to join an already lore-dense campaign and go with the group, and have minimal expectations about anything in the story directly entangling with their characters' background.
As the focus will be on the current characters and wrapping up their existing stories.

If you're seeking a fresh campaign with a lot more focus on your character, this is not the one to join.

The game focuses heavily on Roleplay (Grey moral choices), Combat and to a lesser third extent exploration and puzzles.

Feel free to ask anything you might not get in private messages.

The Story*

Three years since the Human Plague,
And not three months after the Sins were gathered by the Gran Grimoire.
The Dark Chanters fly onward into the phlogiston, in search of allies, warpstones and theoparts.

Those who wish to remain in Sigil stay under the watchful eye of Ruskan,
While those who travel into the unknown follow Daisuke (and with him Kuzunoha).

Will the Dark Chanters be able to stop the Great Will from gathering divine power, collecting warpstones and using theoparts for his great ascension into the Material Plane?

Get into the ship and find out!

Base Requirements for the Game!

Heya everyone!

  1. Players need to be 18+ of age.

  2. Game is 14:00 (2 PM) GMT+3/2 on Saturdays Weekly, for 3-4 hours (in doubt, assume the full 4 hours). Players gotta be consistent as much as possible and not constantly have stuff that might overlap with the session on the day.

  3. The game is in audio over discord, so a good microphone is needed! Please keep background noises and grumbling over the microphone to a minimum.

Basics of what Players can expect:
Roleplay: High
Combat/Tactics: Medium+
Puzzle and Exploration: Low-Medium
Experience Level: Advanced (Know how to make a level 12+ character without hands-on help)

In-Depth Things to Expect:
- Campaign structure: A linear set of missions (some would say a railroad) followed by some downtime in-between structure, within missions you usually have freedom to do as you want, sometimes also linear.
- Morally Grey Choices and Villains at times, other times it's a straight-forward evil.
- Assumes the Character wants to join in and work alongside the group to defeat an evil god-thing.
- Some missions/quests/jobs can have almost zero fighting some have a lot, focus is on roleplay.
- The tone of the campaign is serious, with some dark themes, but not devoid of humor.
- We're still playing with the 2014 5e version, not the new 2024 version. Some 2024 elements might be added down the line as homebrew.
- Character background can be linked to an existing player's character background to simplify the transition into the game since there's already a lot of lore and a lot of personal character involvement going on as it is. However, if you choose to have your own background, it comes with the possibility that it won’t be involved in the story.
- Characters must be part of a Sigillian faction, factions can be found here:
[Original Factions / Before Faction Wars]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faction_(Planescape)
Faction powers I made for 5e:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-xa0LM6JrYS1tTYGyWk72OzjDu4qjYJqyWSsgOGW5UQ/edit?usp=sharing
- No 3rd Party Stuff for character creation.
- No Power-gaming, it’s awkward when one character is OP and the others are around average for 5e power-scaling, it makes encounters either super-deadly or a joke.
- Current party makeup: bard, cleric, sorcerer
- Party is currently level 12.

That's about most of it,

Cheers.
