Menzoberranzan: Of Gods & Houses

  ```Menzoberranzan… the City of Intrigue.  It is the year 1491 DR and you are a member of House Millithor, a noble house that ranks 14th among the roughly fifty noble houses of the drow city.  Rumors have quickly spread that Quenthel Baenre, Matron Mother of House Baenre and the first ruling house of the city (thus the most powerful person in Menzoberranzan), has just visited the compound of your noble house and spoken with Millithor’s very own Matron Mother.

This campaign begins in Menzoberranzan. All party members will be of the house or “loyal” to it in some way. This is going to need flexible but loyal players who enjoy the intrigue of the drow world and can appreciate its dark seriousness while also having a good freaking time.

This is a game that will have mature content (so 18+ players only please). The playing hours will vary, depending upon the schedule. I’d like to shoot every Sunday for 3-5+ hours–but we can all agree how short/long it is depending upon the day/availability.

Potential players: Please be respectful, mature, and have-a-sense-of-humor. Like RP and combat, I like to balance fun with very serious tones.

Character Creation Rules:
• Characters begin play at (3rd level + bonuses below if a drow) or 4th level. We will be rolling for stats, with two sets rolled in game, choosing the better set or choose the standard array if you got terrible rolls.
• Homebrew: Feel free to post a link to the homebrewed content with your concept and if you get an invite it means I approved it. Outlandish and unbalanced things will be scoffed at, thus consider posting more than one concept.
• Backgrounds: Feel free to make these up or adapt them to a Menzo world. Stick to the standard two skills, two languages or tools, and 20gp in equipment.
• Noble Incentive: I’ll be rewarding experience out numerically (sometimes individually), but even in the beginning the party may be of different levels. I want the drow nobles to be stronger than others in the party so that an orc barbarian slave cannot challenge the female drow cleric who leads the party. I suspect there may be party PVP so this is my attempt at makings lean in the favor of the drows and drow nobles. So here’s the deal… as a noble drow of the house you can choose one of three “educations” you receive based on your male/female requirement and you receive those benefits. If you are not a noble drow, you start at 4th level.
o Arach-Tinilith. You must be a female drow. You start the game with three levels of cleric and have graduated (or survived) from Arach-Tinilith. Choose 3 levels of any class beyond that.
o Sorcere. You must be a male drow. You start the game with two levels of wizard and have graduated (or survived) from Sorcere. Choose 3 levels of any class beyond that.
o Melee-Magthere. You must be a male drow. You start the game with two levels of Barbarian, Fighter, and/or Rogue and have graduated (or survived) from Melee-Magthere. Choose 3 levels of any class beyond that.
o This encourages multi-classing! Yay!
