Dungeon World!

Thebes: City of Sin, capital of the world, corrupt to its core. Here the rich get wealthier while the poor struggle to survive. King Heroditus has been murdered! With no obvious heir, the 4 houses of Thebes are left to negotiate the mantle of power. The political grounds are shifting - can you steer this city into prosperity?
Thebe's is a sprawling city, long enough to take several hours to travel from one side to the other by foot. Population 2.5 million. The city is tactically located between the Saranac Ocean and the Icey Mountains. The ocean provides trade and a fleet of warships. The icey mountains act as an impenetrable shield surrounding the city.
Pick your starting position (no two players can choose the same) (or come up with your own, of course):

Power:
- A diplomat sent from another city to negotiate terms with Thebes

Valor:
- A well-established knight, sworn to protect the kingdom at all costs, even in times of darkness

Fame
- Leader of the rebellion - politians may not like you, but the people love you.
or
- Star performer at a well-established theatre

Fortune:
- An owner of a brothel house, a casino, or drug den
or
- Distinguished member of the Thieves Guild

Idolatry:
- An upstart prophet with a minor following and bold ideas
No one in this campaign is allowed to be evil. This is about steering Thebes away from the sources of power that intend to destroy it.

For this campaign improvisation will be key. We will build the world together. Please message me your choice of starting position ASAP. However, character creation and backstory will be done in the first session. Feel free to bring as many ideas to the table about your character, his/her villains, his/her dreams, etc.
