The Citadel: Year One - Sunday

For a 100 years there's been peace in Vitaer. A treaty signed by the most influential races of the nation has resulted in a tentative alliance. Through peace, technology has been allowed to advance resulting in a modern age of magic and science. While the societies of the Council races have known a century of prosperity, there are dangerous forces lurking in the shadows trying to upset the balance.

Then there is you! Along with a group of fellow hopefuls, you want to break out into a life of wonder (and perhaps mischief) to make something more of yourself. Your journey begins as you apply for a new Citadel intitiative. This initiative wants to guide the courageous spirit of new adventurers into a party that can help keep the world safe.

I have ran multiple long-term campaigns in this world over the course of several years. While I have been lucky to grow into a seasoned DM while doing it, I couldn't have done it without the fun players that shared their stories with me. The games I run focus on collaborative storytelling and the social aspects around the tabletop. Experience has learned me this campaign is especially fitting for newer players who want to engage in creative roleplay and get excited about building a story in a new world. A table where improvisation, enthusiasm and being a cool cat is rewarded.

With the party at level 4, they are about to uncover some of the mysteries of the world for the first time. The party is looking for some new buddies to join the adventure!

Game Details

  • Party vibes: social and welcoming group of people that enjoy roleplay and collaboration. A friendly atmosphere that is inclusive and respectful. The only boundary is that we want all players to be at least 18 to be eligible to join.

  • Sessions will run for a minimum of 3 hours and maximum of 4 hours.

  • Discord will be used as the voice client. Make sure you have a good mic and internet connection if you decide to apply.

  • This campaign is long-term and players would reach level 20 by the end of it. The campaign is divided into a collection of smaller adventures that tie together to form a grand adventure. Each adventure is shaped by player choices and consequences.

  • The main keywords of the campaign are mystery and investigation. Most of the exploration you'll do in this campaign will be done through RP. This game does not focus on combat and any combat that arises during your adventure will always be tied to your role-playing.

  • This is a homebrew world by my design. Which means unique lore and character options. For example, the species that exist in Vitaer. A short synopsis of the race options in my campaign:
    The Races

  • All classes and subclasses from officially published Wizards books are allowed. Additionally I have made one bonus subclass for each class specifically for this world.

  • Your party will be working for a peacekeeping organization, so the alignment of the campaign is heavily leaning towards good. This hero-focused campaign will require characters who can work together and are able to 'adjust' to the lawful morals of the Citadel. If you want your app to be considered, insert the words "bouncy ball" in your post at random.

All the information you need to apply can be found on this page. Leave your application in the designated application thread only.

As long as the application thread is visible, I am still accepting and reviewing applications. It's never too late!

Suitable applicants will receive a Roll20 message from me to discuss the game. There can be upto 1 week between application time and my message.
