[Announcement] I won't be available to run or organize any more games until after the 11th of December. I'm in the middle of comprehensive exams right now so I'll be spending most of that time studying rather than piecing any games together. Please be advised and sorry for the inconvenience.
This is going to be a West Marches type of game using Labyrinth Lord; but don't be intimidated. If you've played ACKS or the B/X iterations of the oldest fantasy roleplaying game in the world, then you know how to play Labyrinth Lord. The rules themselves are available for free from Goblinoid Games.
We are going to have an open cast of characters, I will continue to accept new players until I feel I've taken on the limit of what I could handle. The kinds of adventures we will be having are varied, reaching from dungeon delving to politics, and, inevitably, war.
This game will be set in a fantasized version of England during the War of the Roses. So expect war, and expect that war will come for you whether you like it or not. And, like any other war, it will force you to pick a side. Be it of the House of York or Lancaster; you will inexorably have your lot and fortune cast with either of these houses. But, this is a sandbox. Whose to say that a third side couldn't possibly rise? France has just been overrun by demonic frogmen, so the future is always an open question. Everything is fluid, and so is your fate.
I will be handling time based on the number of adventures that happen. Every time every every member of the cast manages to participate in three adventures that reach conclusion, I will progress time a month. Progressing time includes the active participation of NPCs and Persons of Interest happening in the background as well. People you know may be given better positions, robbed of their station, or maybe even killed. Wars could erupt between minor houses, battles could happen near you, and all in keeping with the continuity I would like to maintain despite the open cast of players.
This does not mean, however, that time will wait for you. As soon as three major adventures reach their conclusion, and if you were only able to get a taste of it; I won't wait for you. The game will move on.
