D&D 5e - Out of the Abyss

Welcome to Out of the Abyss! We are in need of a player to replace a member who dropped out. They lost interest in the 5e system and decided to spend their time on a different game.

Given that you'd be starting briefly after our characters' escape from the Drow prison camp of Velkynvelve, your character would likely encounter them somewhere along the tunnels that lead to the Darklake. I will use the same rules for character creation that the other 3 players used at the beginning of the campaign with a few variations.

The rules for character creation will be as follows:
- You will have access to any starting gold and equipment from your class and background.
- You will start at lv4 (2700xp)
- Ability Scores should be determined from the standard spread: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8.
- All standard and exotic races from the Player's Handbook are playable
- Variant Human traits are an acceptable alternative to the regular Human traits
- All new class options, cantrips, and backgrounds are playable from the SCAG
- The Elemental Evil Player's Companion races and spells are playable except for the Aarakocra
- The races from Volo's Guide to Monsters are playable except for Protector Aasimar and the Monstrous Race options
- Factions are present in the Underdark, albeit primarily in the major cities. All five factions are playable. If you have a knightly order or other organization that is prevalent in major cities in the Forgotten Realms, I'd be happy to work those in as well.
- Alignment should be restricted to Good and Neutral subtypes. Lawful Evil is acceptable provided that you are a Drow yourself or a member of the Zhentarim.
- Death Clerics and Oathbreaker Paladins from the Dungeon Master's Guide (pg.96) are acceptable, provided that you are of a Lawful Evil alignment. You are likely going to be compelled to collaborate with other characters of a good streak, so be certain that it makes sense why your deity would compel you to assist do-gooders.
- Rangers may use the class options presented in the Ranger Revised Unearthed Arcana.
- Any requests for things that deviate from it (Unearthed Arcana, homebrew, etc.) can be implemented at my discretion, but I far prefer to stick to the WotC content.

Please leave a detailed backstory, including how your character came find itself on the shores of the Darklake, one day's travel from the Kuo-Toa capital of Slubloodop. Please also include a short personal bio including your level of experience with 5e and a rough outline of your schedule. Our group endeavors to meet one Saturday a month, typically starting around 5pm EST.
