After a quick trip to Gunthers to restock a few things and a restful sleep, our hero's head to Trickfoot farms to begin their covert mission. Once our hero's arrive, and after a brief discussion with Rhinehart, the airship begins to glide over the horizon. A rope ladder is thrown down which kepli, the most agile of the group, grabbed and climbed with no problem. Morthos being one of magical study never paid much attention to his physical ability. With a final grasping leap and a lot of luck, he was able to grab on and make his way up to the deck.
After meeting with Captain Phelps and first mate Gomez our hero's settle in for the long trip ahead. It would.only be two hours after hours hero's boarding that kepl...i's unnatural sence of danger begins to set off warning bells. Within the blink of an eye over half the crew and passengers have dawn black Dragon masks and launch a flurry of magic spells at the adventures. Rhinehart, using speed and magic unlike any we have seen before, activates the iridescent stone on his pendent. As Rhinehart yells "AEGIS", a wall of equal colors and shine appears between the cultists and our hero's. As the magic attacks pass through the wall the seem to lose power and dissappear. Making quick work of the remaining forces, the cultists numbers being thinned to just two, a desperate act causes one of the cultists to launch an attack at the captain and killing him and causing the ship to lose control. Morthos being very quick to think grabs the wheel and right the ship so it doesn't crash, as kepli and Rhinehart finish off everyone left.
Meeting up with a fellow guild member below deck they begin to ask around the ship about the city of Chesedonia and the army they have. Finding out that the city is currently ruled by a man named Luke Fon Fabre, a just and fair ruler from what they heard, and the army of Chesedonia known as the Hit Squad, headed by a man named Guy Forte. After a bit of questioning from A bartender. They also hear rumors of a person named Jade the Necromancer. Refusing to speak more then the name our hero's rested the next day untill they arrived at Chesedonia.
Upon landing our hero's are met by an older gentlemen known as Rowen. Rowen being a Butler of sorts for luke has come to fetch our hero's and take then to the ruler. Leading our hero's through some underground passages, which were explained that the hit squad uses to quickly access parts of the city, they begin talking about Rowen. Rhinehart being of someone of age himself mentions that Rowen use to be the leader of the hit squad back when he was known as Rowen the Bloody. Rhinehart stated the he earned that name when he used world altering magic to completely obliterate two army's with a single spell.
Our hero's finish their walk and meet with Luke. Luke inform them that no trouble is to be caused in the city. They only have access to the Market District of the city. He told them they need to find the Spy that had originally delivered the message that the mask was there. He told them to go and find the stuff mitt inn as the Spy known as scanlin would be there. Using teleportation Magic Rowen drops are heroes off in the Market District. Are heroes soon find the Inn and as they entered they see a gnome bard. Stuffy , the owner of the Inn , inform them that that is a man they are looking for. As Rhinehart goes to speak with his he fines a scrap of paper with Jade the Necromancer's symbol on it , and the Gnome spy there's nowhere to be seen
