Call of Cthulhu (1960s) Homebrew Campaign

Hey all. I wanted to try a little experiment, creating a campaign whose story grows organically on a week-by-week basis as a result of character decisions. This game will take place in the 1960s (beginning in 1963) and moving forward from there.

The first session, which will actually just be character creation, will be on December 20. Ideally, this campaign will go on as long as it is feasible. Sessions will be on Tuesdays from 8:00PM to 11:00PM CST. Audio will be on Discord. New players are absolutely welcome!

One quick note: Call of Cthulhu is a different kind of roleplay game. The goal is not to kill everything or become stronger-- indeed, the stronger your character becomes, the less likely they are to survive. And no character, no matter how strong, will be able to fight the eldritch horrors of Lovecraft's imagination. The idea, therefore, is to achieve small victories-- to investigate, to learn about the evil, and maybe prevent it-- at least for the time being. The gameplay, rather than being combat-driven, is more atmospheric, requiring cleverness and deliberation rather than aggression. There's only so much you can do in a universe of unseen horrors, but that's part of the fun of Call of Cthulhu. You'll never know what kind of threat lurks just around the corner.
