Hello. I intend to run the adventure "Beyond the Rim" for the Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars RPG. The goal is to use this published adventure to get comfortable running this system, and then continue the campaign with adventures of my own making. Games will last for 4 hours, with a 5-10 minute break around the middle.
I'm looking for players who satisfy all of the following:
About me: I'm in my mid 30's. I've run games for many years, but only tried Star Wars FFG a couple of times. I'm fairly familiar with Star Wars, having read a few books, watched all of the movies, and played some of the games, but I'll have to look things up sometimes. I may also get things wrong from time to time. I don't mind helpful corrections if they're constructive and friendly. We can all work together to make the game better.
Characters options from the following books are permitted: Edge of the Empire, Force and Destiny, Age of Rebellion, Special Modifications, Far Horizons, Dangerous Covenants, Savage Spirits, Keeping the Peace, Enter the Unknown, Nexus of Power, Suns of Fortune, and Fly Casual. The reason is that these are the books I have.
While Beyond the Rim is an Edge of the Empire adventure, I think it may be fine to use characters from other source books.
I'd also like to limit it to one force using character, because it would be nice to have a mixed bag, and also having fewer force characters makes it more special.
We will be using obligation, but force users also have morality which starts at 50. All characters, including force users, will use obligation for their starting bonuses.
As for the gameplay, I would like to have a nice mix of activities and interactions that allow everyone to shine, and even some that might take advantage of what the group lacks (perhaps providing incentive to expand a character's focus). To that end, and because of some previous experience, I will ask that heavy combat characters be willing to do non-murderous activities when it's not necessary, and try to be sensible. As in real life, combat is best avoided (but to make things exciting, I'll try to make it fairly unavoidable sometimes).
Also, the dice results in this game often have effects rolled, and the tables provided in the rules give ideas of what kind of effects happen on what results. Some of these are for me to determine, but advantage and triumph symbols rolled by the players are theirs to describe (within the confines of reasonable ideas, based on the tables). To this end, players will need to describe their character's actions and help shape the scene taking place.
The first session will likely be a bit of an intro session, to get players used to the dice system and the rules, and to find out if anyone doesn't want to continue. I will ask that if you don't think it's your kind of game, please let me know. No one has an obligation to play in a game they don't enjoy, but it's a basic courtesy to inform the GM so he can find another player, and not be surprised on game day when a player doesn't show up.
One final emphasized note, because it seems to be the biggest issue on roll20: Please inform the GM if you are going to miss a session, or if you are quitting. I know it's the internet, but let's have this small consideration for the other players.
Please make a post below if this all sounds good to you. I'll ask that you provide two brief character ideas, so that we can form a group with varied abilities. Also, please read the stickied post(s).
