Everything you know about space is wrong. Infinite Space; stars as flaming spheres of super-heated plasma; movement through space as a balance of scientific forces, thrust providing acceleration and maneuverability; scientific fact backing up natural phenomena; life on other planets built along blocks of carbon or silicon elements.
Forget all that. It's wrong.
You can get out of the atmosphere on the back of a roc; fly between the planets through a breathable ocean of air; sail between the crystal spheres that surround the inhabited worlds on a river of magical energy; encounter roving mind flayers and beholders. The stars are living things in some areas, great bowls of fire in others, and pin-points of light painted inside a sphere in others.
Welcome to the Spelljammer universe. It is a magical universe.
I haven't played much on Roll20, but I have used Tabletop Simulator to play online and that was way more work than this. I've been playing D&D for a few years now, and my co-DM Hezzco has been playing longer than that. We plan to switch between DM roles to keep things fresh and interesting for everyone, and for more varied stories and ideas.
What will you choose to do? Travel between the spheres of Realmspace, Grayspace, and Krynnspace, earning your living as a pirate or a privateer? Become a famed treasure hunter and explorer, searching to discover the fates of long abandoned planets? Truly anything is possible in this universe, and we would love to have you.
We'll be using standard 5e rules with a few homebrew twists to adjust ship combat for 5e combat, but generally we're pretty lenient with homebrewed options provided it's been tested and everyone agrees. We will be starting the campaign at level 5 as it tends to be kind of mundane before that. I would be willing to start higher if that's what the majority of players want, we're flexible. I also have HeroLab if anyone needs help making a character.
We'll be playing Saturday at 3pm EST for 4 hours or so, maybe more depending how everyone feels at the end. The only requirements are using discord as voice chat and an enjoyment of in-game roleplaying. While there will be combat, and combat in ways you have probably never played in 5e, this will be a RP-heavy game.
Please post a little about yourself, the kind of character you want to play, your history with RPGs, anything to help me get to know you. Feel free to PM me if you prefer to talk privately or on discord.
I look forward to playing with you!
