Are you new to D&D?
Are you looking for a casual game because you don’t have a lot of time to commit?
Are you looking for a game that places emphasis on fun and not rules (Rule of Cool)?
Are you terrified of playing with people you don’t know?
If you answered yes to those questions, this game may be for you.
Although I’m not new to D&D, I haven’t played since the 80’s, so 5e is still new to me. I tend to be a ‘rules light’ kind of person, preferring a good time to being a rules lawyer. I’m also a busy dad who travels a lot so my time is limited.
The game is LGBTQ friendly, though sexuality is not a theme in the game. The game is a safe place.
I don’t plan on ‘mature content’. More “Merlin”, less “GoT.”
Character creation is through the point-buy method. Variant Human is allowed.
Players Handbook, Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide, and Elemental Evil are fair game for classes, feats, backgrounds. Bladesingers are not limited to Elves.
Experience is based on the milestone experience alternative.
Races are per the Player’s Handbook with the following exceptions:
• Tieflings are reskinned as “infernal born”. Basically look mostly like a standard race but with some ‘oddness’ (eyes, skin color, other tbd if you want to play one).
• Dragonborn don’t exist in game. They don’t fit my world vision; they’re too ‘monster’ for me.
This game is meant to be cooperative, so I frown on PvP and Chaotic Stupid. If your character doesn’t have a reason for wanting to travel with the party other than screw with them, this isn’t the game for you.
Unearthed Arcana is not currently allowed except for the Revised Ranger.
Other than that about anything goes.
Game would be fairly sandboxy. No super cool overarching plot is planned, just a series of adventures, though that could change over time.
When noting interest:
• Please give me an idea of the character you want to play. 5e is pretty balanced so don’t worry about “we need a cleric” or “we need a tank.” Play what you want to play, not what you think the party needs.
• Game is every other Sunday, 10-12ish EST. Once November hits and I'm not travelling so much, weekly is a possibility if that works for everyone.
