Urban Arcana

Inspired by media such as The Secret World, Dresden Files, Supernatural, World of Darkness, and other modern day fantasies, this is an Original Setting and storyline drawing inspiration and ideas from various sources, including real-life Folk Lore, myths and legends.

Set in the Pacific Northwest sometime during 2002, this is a world where the supernatural lives just out of sight of humanity. Mythic creatures hide in the shadows of the world. Werewolves, vampires, fae beings, wizards, and being out of myth walk amongst the cities and suburbs of modern day america. Some hide in their own hidden enclaves, some prowl at night seeking prey, others may be as normal as you or I. Is that Barista a wizard? Is the nightclub bouncer a vampire?

It's a world where every myth and legend has some truth, where secret societies dabble in dark magic, and deal with darker beings, where creatures of the night and being or magic and chaos prowl the streets and forest, and a vigilant few keep the world safe from ever knowing they exist...

The game follows a group of people, each part of the secret supernatural world that hides in plain sight amongst normal human society in one way or another, working for a powerful patron as his "clean up" squad in exchange for his protection.

Are you a powerful mage who angered the wrong people?
A nightclub owner and Vampire who got on a Hunter's watch list?

The possibilities are as varied as the hidden world itself.

The game will be played on Fate Core, which each PC being of some supernatural origin or another. Each one has their own reasons for coming under the patronage of one of Seattle's most powerful vampire princes, whether it be a personal debt, a promise of protection, or other ties that bring them to perform jobs for his personal clean-up team.

We will be meeting once a week on Wednesday evenings, Eastern Time, with Sundays as a possible reserve day for missed sessions.

Our style is heavy roleplay with an emphasis on story, character development, and actions

Please note, the game is Text-based Roleplay, though we will all be present on either a Skype or Hangouts call for ease of organization and general camaraderie.
