Hi all! I’m looking for a group to play a Mass Effect game using the FATE system described in this book: Mass Effect FATE RPG (Alternate link if the first doesn't work)
Don’t worry if you haven’t played this system before, just read it over as best you can, and then come prepared with your creativity and enthusiasm. I won’t be adding people to the group until Thursday (May 11) at the earliest, so feel free to take your time looking over the book before applying. (UPDATE: I'll be sending out invites on Saturday, until then still accepting apps.) You can ask me for clarification on anything you don’t understand.
Games will be weekly on Tuesdays, 7:30-11:30 pm EST. Please don’t apply if you can’t make the game on a regular basis. The date listed is for Session 0.
I am a new GM, so you might have to be a bit patient with me at times, but I'm committed to making sure we get a good story going and everyone has fun.
This game will be more plot and character driven and will focus less on combat (though will still include some). A game background is provided below; the actual story will depend on the characters (we can discuss this in Session 0).
You don’t have to have played all the Mass Effect games, but beware that this game will be set in the Milky Way some time after the events of Mass Effect 3, so spoilers will abound (including in the game description below).
Please apply in the designated “Player Applications” forum thread, and direct any questions/concerns to the thread labeled “Questions for the GM”.
When you apply, please fill out this form so I can get an idea of who you are, your experience, and how you want to play.

Game Background:
It’s been 10 years since Commander Shepard activated the Crucible, taking control of the Reapers. In just four short years, those monstrous machines helped undo much of the physical destruction they had wrought before returning to dark space, hopefully to never be seen again. But traces of them still remain, scars of their presence in minds and hearts, in the names of the dead, and the ruins that remain as testament to their invasion. With the mass relays functional again, intra-galactic travel once more becomes the norm. New alliances will be formed and betrayed, bonds will be forged and broken, as the galaxy tries to figure out what it means to survive the end of all things. A new path must be laid and questions that were raised and set aside during the war will come to light once again.
This game will be set after the Control ending of Mass Effect 3, in a universe with a female Commander Shepard who made mostly Paragon choices. This means that the Quarians and Geth are working together to settle Rannoch, though the Migrant Fleet is still in service for the time being. The Genophage cure was deployed on Tuchanka and the Krogans’ efforts to rebuild and reunite the clans are being led by Urdnot Wrex and Bakara. The Citadel has been returned from the Sol system to its rightful place, and repaired to functionality; the Council has been restored, people are starting to return and it is slowly becoming the bustling galactic hub it once was. The primary infrastructure of the Council homeworlds and major colonies was rebuilt by the controlled Reapers, though there is ongoing work nearly everywhere and these places will never look quite the same again. Many of the other races are still having troubles, particularly the Batarians whose homeworld was destroyed, and a lot of smaller colonies and outposts lack resources. Though in many cases, the war and its rebuilding have brought the peoples of the galaxy together, still strife remains, and there has been an uptick in pirate and smuggler activity in the last couple of years. This is the world your characters find themselves in; what they make of it is their choice.
