13TH SUN

The Planet Ares.
We write the 13th Age of the 12th Sun, the last Age before the Dawn of a new Sun.
Mage wars, an Overabundance of Magic Items and the Deaths of the Chromatic Dragons has left its marks on Ares' Reality: Large Breaches in Reality have transformed the lands and shifted the Environment, turning large parts of Ares almost inhabitable in the process. Contact with those breaches is extremely dangerous: Reality might have shifted here into a demonic Realm, or a different dimension altogether.
The Icons of 13TH SUN:
The Dragon Emperor aka the Gold Dragon:
The Dragon Emperor consideres himself the ruler of Atlas, and his magical prowess is such that few dare to disagree. Sometime during the mage wars, he and his four most trusted Sorcerers conducted a terrible ritual that transformed them into the five metallic Dragons.
He has foreseen the End of the World, and has decided that a controlled death and subsequent rebirth will be better than trying to save its remains.

The Archmage aka the Silver Dragon:
The Archmage used to be the Emperors right Hand. He has recently shifted his allegiance
to the Yellow King. The Archmage might very well be the most powerful Magician in all of Atlas, but he lacks the Emperors Charisma and tactical mind. His Nemesis has always been the Book Wyrm, even when they were both serving the Emperor.
The Book Wyrm aka the Copper Dragon:
The Book Wyrm has been tasked by the Gold Dragon to collect everything in this world that is worth saving before it is destroyed. He hoards a vast collection of artifacts, books, art and artists in his hidden tower in the red wastes. He is the last known Icon amongst the metallic Dragons: The Brass Dragon died in the mage wars and the Bronze Dragon had been kept a secret and imprisoned by the Gold Dragon.

The Blue Dragon: The Chromatic Dragons have existed since the beginning of time. They They are said to be important Pillars for Ares Reality, and their Deaths may have triggered the Reality Breaches. There used to be five of them : The White, the Red, the Green, the Black and the Blue. The Black and the Green where killed during the Mage Wars
The White died at the Hands of the Wizard King, and the Red is held a prisoner in Axis.
Only the Blue is left in her Capital Drakkenhall, where she is scheming her Revenge.
The Priestess: The Gods of Ares are dying out. Something (or someone?) is killing them off.The Priestess has made it her goal to save as many gods from Extinction as possible.
She is a demigodess, Daughter of the God Chtonos , who is the last of the Elder Gods, and the first of the new Gods. The Yellow King is her Brother.
She is currently at War with Hell after she saved Mammon, the God of Hell, from a demonic Uprising. The Demons did not take kindly to being denied Revenge on their former Slaver.
The Wizard King: Master Necromancer and King of Midland, the Wizard King keeps his sovereignty through his legions of the Undead. His capital City Nepuchadnezar is surrounded by the graves of 10000 of its most loyal soldiers, ready to defend their home one more time. The Kings despise for defiling magic runs deep, and he is convinced that his ways of conjuring magic is the righteous One.
The Efreet Sultan: The Genie known as the Efreet Sultan reigns over the Forge. Its intentions are its own, and are mostly circling its own amusement. At least it doesn´t want to end this world (it's too much fun right now), and will fight those who do. It is almost physically impossible to escape a pact with him, once it is made. He owns the Mainland Dwarves by Pact for destroying the Elven Kingdom for them.
All Demons that want to walk the Mortal Plane for a longer time without desolving need to make a Pact with him aswell.

The Crusader: The Crusader and his Army of wandering Paladin worship the Sun.
They are originally from the grey towers at the shores of the iron sea, but the last few decades,
they have been seen more frequently in the south, even in proximity to Axis. There they are a truly
odd sight, clad in full iron Armor despite the blistering Sun shining down on them.
The Druadach Council: The Druids are the Lords of the Bloodwood, the last great forest of old.
Their druidic magic has kept it alive; however, it has also twisted it into something unnatural.
The Emperor has built a defensive wall to keep them at bay, and his garnisons all along it.
The Hive Queen: The Hive Queen is a swarm intellect that has invaded the Queens Wood and killed the elves former Icon, the Elf Queen. Her intentions in the realm of the Dragon Empire are unclear. Was she summoned by the Genie to fulfill his pact with the Dwarves? Is she merely waiting for the right moment to strike and kill the other Icons as well? No one knows!
She mostly operates through her Minion Race, the Vril.Though if they are her Allies or Slaves is just as unclear.
The Comedian: He is the High Lord of Crime, minister of all things crooked. From his Metropolis Glitterhaegen, the City of Thieves, he has his hands in almost every illegal activity throughout the Empire. It is said that he has his name because he was once a slave: A jester for the former Lord of Glitterhaegen, up until the point he slit his masters throat and took his seat. Or maybe its just a cheap shot at the fact that he is a Gnoll.
The Yellow King: The Yellow King is the Avatar of the Elder Gods on Ares. As their representative, he has been gifted by them in many Ways. The yellow King oversees the worship and cultural activity of the Mire Elves and Frogfolk, who praise the Old Ones.
Recently, he tried to bring the Old Gods back to Atlas in physical form through a terrible ritual that was thwarted at the last minute by a group of adventurers.
The Conqueror Worm: This ancient purple Worm roams the red wastes. It has the size to devour smaller villages and is worshipped by the desert elves and some of the Martian tribes.
