"True, I was hired to sail them past the Witch’s Teeth. Four adventurers looking to earn a name; who was I to throw vinegar on their fancies? I took ’em within a rowboat’s jaunt of the place to the door on the rock. I know as much of the place as any sailor—nothing. the man who built that door and its innards was known as Pallon the Pious, a pirate of some renown. Given his actions in life, I don’t know how he made right with any god when he died. the adventurers? Well, I imagine you five want me to take you out. Perhaps you’ll find your answer there..."
You went to meet the old fisherman, chasing after the long fabled vault of Pallon the Pious. Perhaps the fabled rumours of the lost treasure of the old pirate captain out there amongst the witches teeth are just that, rumours, but you're convinced they worth taking a look at. With your companions in tow, you're going to find the truth behind the fabled treasure vault of the once dreaded pirate, Pallon the Pious.
The module will be the Vault of Pallon the Pious, written by Jon Sawatsky.
Who: You! hopefully. I want to run a game for new players. People who havent had a chance to play any 5e Dnd before. This One shot is a chance for you to try out the game, see what you think, and have a go.
When: Tues 1st august, 7:30PM UK time.
Where: right here on roll20, with voice on discord.
What: a one shot game of Dnd5e, to give newer players a chance to experience the game. This is suitable for people who have never played before, have played previous editions, or are just a bit curious about what makes Dungeons and dragons 5th edition a bit different.
Cost: nothing! all of my games have always been free to play, and always will be, because Dungeons and dragons is nothing without both its DM and players, and Nobody should charge to have fun with each other!
The Idea
I'm running a game geared towards newer players (including players with zero roleplaying experience), as I've seen many groups of first-timers and newbies on Roll20 seeking a DM. With a couple of my regulars, more experienced players to help get things going, the aim would be to give new players a chance to take their first step into the world of Dungeons & Dragons.
While this game is new player friendly, I'm not ruling out players with previous experience, or players with experience in previous editions – or other roleplaying games altogether, however the purpose of this game is a one shot to try and get people who have never had a chance to play fifth edition dungeons and dragons before, a chance to try out a game.
The maps will be created with Digital art tools, and dynamically lit with Roll20, and sound effects may be used if fitting to the game.
The GM:
Hi! I'm Natt. I'm an experienced GM, with 15 years of D&D experience, and several other systems, too. I've been a GM for pretty much every edition of D&D, but I find 5th Edition fantastic, particularly for new players, and I've enjoyed running for new players with this system as I think it is far more intuitive than previous editions.
The Group:
I'm recruiting three people to play with us. The group will consist of a GM, a couple of my long-time experienced player, and hopefully three of you lovely people who want to try out a dungeons and dragons game!
What I'd Like from You:
I'd like you to have a good quality headset with a working microphone, and to be happy using voice communications (preferably Discord).
I'd like you to be able to commit to attending on Tuesday. I appreciate real life happens, but if we have a lot of drop outs we may have to cancel.
I'd like you to be keen to learn the game, and have an interest in Role playing with your other players, and staying in character, as my games tend to focus more on role play than the mechanics of the game.
I'd like you to have little/no experience with 5th Edition, which will be great because this is a place to learn and have fun in a relaxed, chilled environment.
If you like the sound of this, please create a new thread below, and tell me a little about yourself, your experience with other systems if any, and what sort of character you'd like to play (class/race/background), in order for me to pick out people to make a balanced party. I'll send out invites on friday afternoon so that everyone has a chance to make their Level 2 characters for tuesday.
Please bear in mind that as this is a game for new players, Characters will only be allowed to draw from the Players handbook and sword coast adventure guide for their class and race options. Please no crazy homebrew or UA stuff.
Thanks for reading, and taking the time to apply!
