[TOR] The Darkening of Mirkwood

Six years after the death of Smaug, the banishing of the Necromancer of Dol Guldur, and the Battle of Five Armies, life is returning to the regions around Mirkwood.

The Dwarves have reclaimed Erebor and the Dragon's hoard, and prosper under the rulership of Dáin Ironfoot. Bard the Bowman, now King Bard, rules in Esgaroth and the kingdom of Dale flourishes once more. Beorn the Skinchanger has forsaken his isolation and now leads his own clan in the valley of the Anduin.

But Mirkwood is still full of the ancient evils that transformed it from Greenwood the Great to a place of darkness and fear, and these dark forces are stirring again even as the realm recovers from the Dragon's devastation. Spiders spin between the trees, Orcs and Goblins gather beneath the Misty Mountains, and wolves and worse prowl beneath the eaves of Mirkwood. Will the fragile peace hold, or will the Shadow fall on Mirkwood again?

This game will use Cubicle 7's The One Ring rules, and will be run through a combination of asynchronous (PBP) posts and either weekly or biweekly game sessions. Note that this will be a text-only game.
