Beneath a crimson sun lie wastelands of majestic desolation and cities of cruel splendor, where sandal clad heroes battle ancient sorcery and terrible monsters. This is Athas, the world of the DARK SUN campaign setting, a dying planet of savagery and desolation. Life hangs by a thread in this barren land, and now it is up to you to write your own story in blood and glory. (Think Conan meets Mad Max.)

About the Campaign

Who
-A DM with 2 years of experience running my third 5th Edition campaign on Roll20. I mostly run things as by-the-book as possible, but will be reasonable regarding out-of-the-box thinking and creativity. I do not fudge my rolls and will do majority of my rolls publicly in roll20.

What
-Dark Sun is a Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting originally introduced in 1991 for AD&D. It was re-released a few times, but I'll be using the campaign setting book from D&D 4E as my guide.
-A, hopefully, challenging campaign with a post-apocalyptic theme and a sandbox style.
-Some of the maps for the campaign are provided and scanned in from the campaign setting book leading to high quality content.
-Maps not provided by the book will be created with my best effort using resources from the internet.
-I will be doing my own loose attempts at converting monsters from the 4th Edition Dark Sun Creature Catalog to 5th Edition. Please understand that it is a work in process and with playtest comes improvement.

When
-Mondays at 6pm EDT, each session will be planned to run from 6pm-10pm (4 hours).
-This campaign's length will vary based upon what you, the players, decide to do and whether or not this is an enjoyable campaign setting for you. (Which I hope it will be)
-Games will be run with 1 DM and 4-5 PCs. If we do not have at least 4 PCs present that session will be postponed.
-Session 0 (our first session) will be on Tuesday, September 5th at 6 pm EDT, rather than Monday the 4th due to it being labor day. After which we will continue onto our normally scheduled Monday sessions.

What I am looking for in potential players

-High-effort players that are willing to both get into the intensity of the adventure, but also laugh at your misfortunes.
-The ability and intention to show up for the sessions at the agreed upon time. As previously stated the length of this campaign varies based upon the players' enjoyment. This means you should be in it for the long haul. Your real life should always take priority over this game, so if you do not anticipate your schedule remaining open and/or flexible during the agreed-upon time, please do not sign up.
-You have a working headset microphone and the ability to use Discord/Skype for communication purposes. Skype is merely a backup, with Discord voice chat being the go-to method of communication. No webcams required.
-You possess a welcoming and positive attitude towards your DM and your fellow players.
-You are willing to speak up and play your character, but take a backseat when necessary to allow your other players to shine. Also be welcoming of my terribly voiced NPCs.
-You have read and agreed to the posted character creation rules.
-I do not require my players to have any experience with D&D 5th Edition, or D&D in general. New players are more than welcome! That being said I do expect new players to have access to the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Player Handbook.
