Underdogs in the Underdark

These are cruel tunnels. A thousand factions, strong and weak, ready to gut any old kassela to protect their holdings or carve out an extra pound of flesh to shove between their piss-colored teeth. All you could ever ask for is some quiet little hole to call your own, and even that is just short of extorting the Gods for all their glitter and gold.

Welcome to the Underdark, where you're invited to dabble in the dangerous and dastardly, in a relatively evil campaign! You will be joining our fateful adventurers: Scar, Sai, and Vanan, in the city of Al Dridg, the great bridge of the Duergar. They are in search of some errant, well, "desirables," at the request of a potential necromantic ally. They must meet with a shady drow operative, but who else might destiny interpose on this meeting of malicious minds? Why, it might very well be you.

Times are uncertain, as old wounds start to bear fresh red. Ceasefires will not hold forever, and the alliances become more a joke by the month. Our heroes bear a vested interest in protecting their unsuspecting home in the Orcish lands of Khageport against the military might of the western Drow, the half-promises and economic meddling of the maritime Goblins of the glimmer sea, and the overbearing demands of their easterly Duergar allies. History is written with every favor, and the inkwell is far from dry.

...to be considered for underdog status. Completed character sheets will not be required, but character creation guidelines will be listed here for your prior understanding.

PHB, EEPC, SCAG, VGM and most UA are permitted. Excluding the EEPC and SCAG spell lists, characters builds should not exceed PHB +2 source materials. Each UA article will be considered its own distinct source material. You will be starting at level 7, with a 27 point buy, and standard HP.

You may use any racial stat block to represent any underdark race, within reason. For instance, a particularly jack-of-all-trades drow might use the stat block of a human, a derro might be represented by a halfling or gnome, and a myconid might use the crunch of a green dragonborn or yuan-ti pureblood. A chitine, however, would likely be poorly represented by a goliath's stat block, mind you.

I will heavily favor underdark denizens of novel races and classes. At present, the party makeup is thus:

If you do seek out those particular niches, please be open to input on historical character events and possible motivations. And by the by, don't feel shoehorned into those roles. All are welcome in this terrible, terrible ordeal. Misery loves company, and all that jazz.
