The Master's Vault

For more than a century Elaria Feywing, known to many as The Master, mentored young adventurers in combat, exploration, and magic. Little is known about the elf woman’s past and her days as a wandering wizard, but her status as a teacher is legendary. Many young fortune-seekers made the trek out to the small village of Parabor on the frontier of the Merriam Vale to seek Elaria’s expertise. She took only a handful of these pupils every year. Her favorite group of disciples was also her last and most recent... YOU.

The Master's Vault is a one shot (if the everything runs smoothly) designed by the wonderful creators of Roll20, to get both GMs and players used to the systems that Roll20 provide. I, your fabulous DM, will lead you through this journey as we enter the world, of the Master's Vault.

So a little about me; I haven't been DMing very long, and most of my DM experience is outside of Roll20. I'm hoping to start my own campaigns here shortly that take place in my own little worlds. However, for now I will be running the master's vault, and then launch the party straight into the Lost Mines of Phandelver (again, if everything runs smoothly.) I'm 17 years old, and I will likely only be available on the weekends during the afternoon (since that's about the time I actually wake up.) So I will be looking for players who are available during the weekends which will most likely be younger players (since they are mostly only available on weekends too!)

I am not limiting my player audience, I accept any and all players, but I will not be accepting all newbies, since I am a more "fresh" DM I don't know a whole lot to guide newer players, except for "how to be a good player".

What Material is Accepted?
Anything really, homebrew stuff (if you run it by me), and any published works as long as you're the one keeping track of stuff (like race feats, or special class abilities) I'm fine with anything. In fact I really enjoy it when a party is like a rainbow, it has basically every color on it. If players want to use the premade characters then that is also perfectly fine, I would in fact suggest that a newer player use the premades, since they are simple and easy to use. They aren't the best thing ever, but it is something at the very least.

How will this campaign be run?
Well I really enjoy roleplaying. It's one of the more fun parts of Dungeons and Dragons! I encourage my players to always roleplay, and I would guess that the master's vault will be a two session campaign if we (excuse my cursing) roleplay the shit out of it. The two campaigns I will be running (maybe even more) won't be heavily roleplay based, I do follow the rule of balancing the campaign, but do expect me to go into detail (unless I'm tired, in which case blegh.)

How will you build your characters (if you don't use the premades.)?
Well I will follow the campaign set up by saying you will have to either use the point buy system, or the standard scores. I know not a lot of players love that idea, but the premades use the standard score so it's only fair to anyone who uses the premades. If no one uses the premades then I will allow the players to roll for their stats. You will also need to come up with how and why Elaria decided to take you in as her student, and I will be willing to help you with this.

What Communication will be used?
We will be using discord, I have a vast long hatred for Skype.... Skype is my immortal nemesis and it shall burn with the wrath of a thousand hells.
