The Faerun Connection

Thanks to everyone who applied. We have filled the slot and will be closing the listing. Thanks for the effort you put in and sorry, while I'd love to be able to run games for everyone there was only one spot.

Alright so this is a mildly homebrewed 5E game set in a mildly homebrewed Faerun. Party is currently on a quest to seek the help of the dwarves in the East to help Neverwinter with an orc invasion. Party is lvl 5, Campaign will be going on for a while, hopefully.

Enough of the setting, let's talk about the gameplay.

Some sessions will be pure roleplay (RP), characters talking about their feelings, having a chat. Do not expect constant combat or even combat every session.

Levelling is based on plot/story milestones set by the DM (me), you won't get more XP by fighting.

There is no PVP, even persuasion checks etc are decided by the player they are rolled against.

We're trying to move away from "can I roll X" to "my character tries X" so expect me to push back sometimes on this point.

No "edgy" BS. Some sex-jokes and innuendo are fine and par for the course, but rape, racism, homophobia etc. are not.

You:

You are someone who enjoys the roleplaying aspects of this game and is willing to accept that it is "let's pretend" with some base rules and a referee.

You also should be UK or Europe-based, Sorry rest of the world but the time delay is an issue.

You should also be able to put a little time into the campaign outside of the session, there's a roleplay channel in Discord where stuff happens outside of the sessions. I'm not saying you need to be around 24/7, but you will need to be able to reply periodically.

Your character:

From a mechanics/combat perspective, a tanky frontliner is what the party currently needs. A character that fits this role would be ideal.

Personality wise, do what you like, just make sure they are "good", able to work with the rest of the party, and won't act like idiots that would have died long before this adventure began, probably from eating a rock.

Backstory, If you can come up with something original, I will be very happy, in fact, I will use this to evaluate applications.
