The Burning Lands are vast wastelands that that separate Felland - once the mighty Feln Empire - from the scattered city-states that once comprised the Kareguun Empire. With the empires fallen and their wars all but forgotten, the Burning Lands are no longer battlefields. What mysteries and wonders lie in these forsaken places?
The players had fallen into the service of a tribe of jackal-headed gnolls - the Anubians - in the Burning Lands and were playing along with them until they could find a way to rescue the gnolls' slaves - some of whom they have befriended. The chieftain of the Anubian gnolls is a half-elf (actually felleen - see the link to background info below) barbarian. They have now escaped their bondage and are wandering the Burning Lands.
The group is currently adventuring in and around the giantish kingdom of Jaredore. When they found a ring belonging to one of the PC's father on a gnoll bandit, the group backtracked the bandits to their lair in the wilderness, hoping to discover how they came by the ring.
The PCs are still low level so it's still a good time to get in on the ground floor. If you've never player Castles & Crusades before, you don't have to worry about jumping in to a high-level campaign as a newbie.
The Burning Lands is played with Castles & Crusades using a few optional rules from the Castle Keeper's Guide - attribute modifiers, method two; secondary skills; and advantages. Also, the classes from Adventurers Backpack are available. And I may implement a house rule or two as the campaign moves along.
The game is every Sunday at 3:00 PM Central Time and usually runs about 2 hours.

And here's a link to the Castles & Crusades Quick Start Rules if you don't have access to a copy of the full rules: http://trolllord.com/downloads/pdfs/cnc_qs.pdf It does not have all the races and classes but it does have the general rules and equipment/price lists. The Troll Lords are currently giving away the PDF of the C&C Players Handbook for free but I don't know how long that will last. If you want to snag a copy, this is your chance: https://www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/#!/Castles-&-Crusades-Players-Handbook-7th-Printing-Digital-Standard-Cover/p/89198194/category=11639170
When you post a comment below requesting to join the game I will not send an invite right away. I like to trade a few notes before inviting new players to get to know them a little bit first.
