The day has finally come. You've left friends behind along with embarrassing memories, but you've probably brought a fair share of them with you as well. You have just graduated from middle school, and now you're about to take your first steps into - well, perhaps not adulthood, but at least not-being-totally-a-kid-anymore-youth. Perhaps you'll be one of the lucky ones who get to enjoy these flowering days, or perhaps you intend to spend your days studying like a good kid. Perhaps you want to be popular. Perhaps you just want to be left alone. You probably had some hopes and expectations for the official beginning of your highschool career, lofty or humble as they may be.

But one thing is certain. You never expected this.

Something is wrong with the world, and you know it - you're at least 90% sure. It's like everything - outside of school and how you get there in the morning - has become a fuzzy, grey blur, and gotten mixed up with something similar but not quite the same from somewhere else. You may not have lived in this town for your entire life - or perhaps you have - but you definitely know that this is not the town your school was located in when you did your entrance exams. Was it a public school, or a private academy? You're not sure. What country are you in? You can't remember. What date is it? Is it the end of summer, or the end of spring break? Nobody seems to know for sure, and every time you look away or go to sleep, what you thought was fact seems to have changed overnight, or in the blink of an eye. You've found yourself wondering if you'll be able to go on that field trip you always wanted, simply because you're unsure if the school is in the same country anymore. Hell, sometimes you doubt you're even still on planet Earth.

One thing is for certain, though. The school is at the center of all this - this Abnormality - and it seems to be the place where all things come together. Somehow you know that all these thoughts and doubts you have will become nothing but a mellow mumble in the back of your head when class starts, and you haven't been able to voice your concerns to anyone either. After all, how could such a thing happen? Maybe it's just you who's gone crazy - nobody else seems to react, after all. And how would people stay calm if something like this happened to them in real life? There's no way that would just happen and nobody would raise a fuss, right? No, you can't raise a fuss about this. You know that, somehow, if you did, something really bad would happen. Why? Who knows. Nothing makes sense anymore anyway.

There's something more, though. You've had dreams lately. Weird ones, that barely feel like dreams, and only because you wake up in your bed when they end are you able to convince yourself that they are. Well, that and the whole "there's no way this could be real" thing, again. In these dreams you always have - well, powers would be a bit cocky way to put it - strange capabilities. Far and beyond things you'd be able to feasibly do in real life, whether that be because of lack of training or talent, or because it's something entirely unnatural or impossible. It's simply not possible that you'd have these - abilities - in reality, you would've noticed. Probably. You're 90% sure. At least. Either that, or you've gone insane.

But you don't have time to verify that last 10%, that bitching, nagging voice in your mind beating you over the head with a sign labeled "common sense". Weird dream or not, you just woke up - a bit late, too - and it's the first day of the new school year. It's past time you got dressed in your new uniform, ate the fastest breakfast you ever had, and ran off to school. So what are you waiting for?

Welcome to North High. God knows what you'll find here...
