Ruins of Azlant AP - by SQ

You have been selected for a very important expedition to the lost continent of Azlant! After hearing of the expedition, you applied for adventure, and those responsible for organizing the expedition selected you to join other colonists to stake claim to an island named Ancorato in the Arcadian Ocean.

The Ruins of Azlant Adventure Path begins with your characters standing on the deck of a ship after a long voyage to a newly founded colony called Talmandor’s Bounty on an island in what is left of Azlant.
The journey from Almas in Andoran to the island of Ancorato has taken 6 weeks aboard a ship called the Peregrine, and you and the other PCs have had a chance to get to know some of the other colonists. (See page 12 for more information about these individuals.)

While the destruction of Azlant was a defining moment for the Inner Sea region, many people who live there these days know little of the ancient Azlanti. Some don’t believe the tales unearthed after millennia of burial and regard them as myth. Those non-believers can’t imagine a world so rich in magic that it was ubiquitous in Azlanti society, with everyday citizens benefiting from the culture’s deep interest in magic and science.

Now is your chance to not only establish a foothold in this fabled and broken land, but also to potentially uncover valuable lost lore once held by one of history’s most powerful and enigmatic cultures.

[How things are going to be handled, I.E. Underwater Combat]
This will be determined by the players. I could run it with the rules as written for underwater combat, or I could make things a bit easier (such as giving the feats for free at certain points, or adjusting difficulties, or giving items that allow breathing underwater, etc.).

For equipment and trading, some of it is possible within the adventure path but, understandably, the party is a bit isolated from high population trading centers. The best way to trade in the AP is with the ship’s captain who will purchase items gathered to sell in the markets of Almas which is a Metropolis. I will take into account items that the players might want, to be found while the party adventures. Crafting actually gets more leeway than other APs as there’s a fair amount of Downtime to be had.

There’s also the potential to use Kingdom-Building rules, or similar settlement building rules from Ultimate Campaign. I’m not familiar with them myself but I am willing to some degree to take a stab at implementing them if it’s something the players want.

[Why the start date of late January?]
Normally I would do at least 2 weeks of application time to let people take a look and decide if they want to apply and let applications accumulate. I want to at least get past the holidays, and there’s also a bit of travel I have to do mid-January for leisure and work. So, Friday the 19th is when submissions will end, party members will be picked over the weekend, and first session would be somewhere following (90% chance of Fridays starting at 5:00pm EST)
