Mind Blast: One-Shot

The Vault of Dreams is a place a scholar only dreams of finding. A vault where the memories of some of the greatest minds that have ever lived are stored in bottles. Many have come to look through the bottles for answers to questions they have had for their whole lives! Others come to the dream of pools to donate their incredible discoveries to the pool of dreams in hopes that their memory will last forever.

One way or another you have come to learn about this place and have decided to start your pilgrimage there. Maybe you need answers to a question you are desperate to find, maybe you were hired as a bodyguard to some scholar who plans to donate his discoveries or maybe you are the scholar! For whatever reason you have decided to go to the Vault of Dreams and along the way you meet your party.

When you arrive at the vault everything is not as you expect. You arrive with what seems to be a remnants of a battle. Wounded guards and dead Drow fill the front gates. The vault is on fire as weird looking smoke escapes through the holes in the roof. The head of the guard claims that the enemy leader is dead though many of his men remain inside the vault. To find what you are looking for you must now save the vault. But a word of warning, keep your allies close and your memories closer. The vault has been known to switch those around.

Character Creation:
You are creating 5th level characters by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest. If you're total modifier is less than +3 you can use the standard array or point buy. You may roll for your health or take the average but you are stuck with whatever you choose. You can mix and match for health though. Your equipment will consist of whatever you class and background gives you plus an uncommon magic item of your choice (with my approval).

I will allow homebrew materials but they all have to go by me first. Honestly if it is cool I may use it for my campaign.

About Me
I have been a DM for quite a bit and because of the holidays I have reached a lull in games. So what I decided is to run a one-shot! I have run quite a few games most of them being one-shots. I love the RP aspect of the game and I do my best to mix the combat with the RP. Seeing as this is a one-shot I encourage all of you to go crazy! Though I do like to make my games somewhat challenging so word of warning.

Game:
This is just a one-shot so I am planning for it to be just one session but it may become 2 depending on how long you guys take. I plan for at least 4 hours for the session but it may end later or earlier depending on you guys.
