I've been playing RPGs for nearly as long as I can remember, but the only tabletop RPG I really played before now was Robotech back in the 90s. That was really what kicked off my love of character creation and writing. The freedom found in these systems is unparalleled by anything including their digital cousins (though I still love those as well). And so, despite not really playing them very much myself, I continually collected source books whenever I found one, just to read over, envision the worlds described therein, and create characters I could imagine existing within them.
I was somewhat content with this until earlier in 2015 I stumbled upon a little show called "Critical Role" that propelled me to join a community forum or two and finally, get back into playing.
I will never look back and always be grateful for the work the cast and crew who work on that show put in, that has helped push me back into the games that I've held an interest for since my youth.
