I play D&D to immerse myself fully into a new world, in a character's shoes. I have 20 years + experience playing and I live for character creation and its development through shared experiences. Therefore, I:
-I respect all people. LGBTQIAA+, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc.
-Always make my character last, to get a feel of who wants to play what how, then use that to inform my own choices as to fit the right kind of archetype to fit a missing role.
-Always make an unusual character. I am a huge fan of psychology, so I convincingly play out a wide array of traits, making my characters pretty realistic.
-I love to share the spotlight with newer/shyer players, so as to not put them on the spot, but to make them feel included. And obviously let other players have their own.
-I let my character develop themselves, from a writer's perspective. They may very well end up with interesting traits I hadn't foreseen.
-My characters, being realistic, tend to want to get to know the people they risk their lives with, meaning others get to talk about their backgrounds, and goals, opinions, etc.
-I always draw my own characters.
-I cannot stand imbalance, metagaming, powergaming, etc. if ones wants to crush it with numbers, one might as well play a videogame. This is a role-playing game.
