A friend and I had a D&D beginner box back in the 80's and we tried to figure out how to play. We didn't ever really figure it out since we were just two young nerds living in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Well, now I'm an adult nerd living in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere and I have a 12 year old that I'd like to play D&D with. We bought the 5E beginner box and alas... I can't figure out how to play.
I need to learn from someone who is willing to teach. When I play a game, I am very dedicated to my group and I don't flake out. I'd greatly appreciate if it you would take me under your wing, into your group, and let me learn from you so that I can teach my son. We have a couple that live across the street that played D&D back in the 70's and they said they would play with us I was able to learn the game and DM for the group.
