In 1981, the Space Shuttle Columbia flew into space for the first time, MTV was launched, IBM released its first PC, and I started playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
I play 5.5 now, but my gaming ethic is the same. I work with other players; I don't overshadow them. I don't do PVP. When my PC isn't talking, I'm actively listening. I know the rules, but I'm not a rules lawyer. I show up every week on time.
I'm always down for combat and rolling fistfuls of damage dice, but I mainly play D&D for the collaborative storytelling. I have an MFA in creative writing and two degrees in English, and that background influences how I build characters, interact with fellow PCs, engage the worlds I play in, and run the table when I DM.
I play in three games a week as an evocation wizard, a divine soul sorcerer, and a vengeance paladin; I also DM one game per week in the World of Greyhawk.
