Scyber Psylock, a Shadow Elf born from a lost race of Elves who hailed from an isle once called Ro'el - now torn asunder by an evil entity only known as The Unspoken One. The Unspoken decimated his family, his clan, and all living creatures of his birth home.
One month later, he was found by Velkyn Baen’mtor, the House Mage of the House Baen’mtor, and was adopted as his son. There, he would grow with his new family, the House of Baen’mtor, and would be newly named: Scyber Psylock Baen’mtor. His last name at birth, Psylock, would become his middle name as a symbolic gesture of where he came from which his new family felt would honor the memory of his biological family, and be given his new last name as well as a new beginning and life with his new family, the Baen’mtor.
Many decades later (as all species of Elves and Drow alike grow at a slow rate compared to other creatures such as Humans as he is now 212 years of age yet looks to be in his 20's in Human years) he would learn skills to become a Battle Mage by his adopted family, each were masters of their own craft and gave him the opportunity to learn many trades to see what he felt would suit him best. His family members taught him well. Some trades he found a little difficult while others he excelled at. Those family members were:
Grandmother - Zayada Baen’mtor (a priestess of Ghaunadaur, as well as Matron Mother of her house.)
Uncle – Jarl’tar (House Weapon’s Master)
Father – Velkyn (House Mage, Member of Bregan D'aerthe)
Uncle – Torellan (House Alchemist/apocathary, Bregan D'aerthe Spy)
Aunt – Adira (Cleric of Ghandadaur, heir to be Matron Mother)
Aunt - Xull’Zune (Teacher at Blackstaff Tower, Waterdeep, Spellblade.)
Aunt – Ilmara (Cleric of Ghandadaur)
Aunt - Yasreena (Cleric of Ghandadaur)
He loved them all as if they were his own just as they each loved him as one of their own and would risk his own life for any of his family members in danger. When they first found him as a child they could not help noticing his darker complexion and eyes that glowed a blue hue, convincing them all he was a Shadow Elf who are not that much different than the Drow. In fact they both share darker shades of skin tone compared to other Elves such as the High Elves and even most Wood Elves. The Drow are normally shy outside the Underground, but are exceptionally closer in terms of family than most all other creatures of the lands, the winds, and the seas. They work as one entity, as if a pack of wolves being lead by their Matron and acting on command.
They learned of the tragedy that befell his mother and father as well as the rest of the clan and the beasts that lived in his original homeland and they took him in as one of their own feeling it was the right thing to do. They taught him their language as well as the ways of the hunt, such as his Uncle Jarl’tar, his Father Velkyn, his Auntie Adira, as well as other family members would teach him their skills.
Although he loved his family all equally, he felt closer to one member of his family, the company of his Aunt Xull’Zune most of all as she took her under her wing and and was a teacher of the ways of Spellblade. Though she would always win when sparring together, she always gave a chuckle helping him to his feet which made him chuckle in return, and taught him the mistakes he made and how to counter her attacks which he always listened and soaked her wisdom like a sponge to learn. She was more than his Auntie and teacher, she was whom he called his best friend and would always begin his conversations to her with "Auntie Zull..".
He especially enjoyed observing how hot tempered she could be when provoked, and as irritated as she may become she would always look toward him and give a quick little wink to him with an almost evil looking smirk letting him know she was enjoying venting her voice to others who deserved it, even if the wildlife in the area ran off in fear of her bellowing shrieks. It was one of his favorite past times observing her tantrums and would try hard not to show the obvious chuckles from his mouth, she could always tell he was enjoying the moments, even if every critter in the area ran to the hills in fear.
He was more of a silent type who generally spoke very few words even around family, but spoke to his Aunt more than anyone else. This was noticed by the family years ago since the age of six and they felt it was due to witnessing the deaths of his parents and clan of Shadow Elves, but were understanding and though he spoke little he would always greet them with a gentle bow of respect and smile, and when being taught different skills, or doing labor work he would always be eager in asking questions about the craft he was learning and also about the world and its mysteries such as animals, the layouts of land masses, the inhabitants, and other such wonders when they gathered together for their meals and eat together. This was around the time his Aunt would teach him a special language of which only they would understand, including a cryptic sign gesturing language where even just a simple look to the other in a certain way would be its own way of tell them something, or giving a command to perform an action when needed which also included facial gestures. She felt by teaching him to speak using this action would help him be more open to speak more and not shy from it. This also lead to learning a few other languages of the world which included Draconic, Common Tongue, and others.
They would use their language even at home and he enjoyed this most of all learning it can have many uses other than just talking to one another. It could be used under guise when walking in town, or around others who might listen in, and could be used to help one another if trouble arose. This was one of many reasons he looked up to her as his Auntie, but also his best friend. And the fact she had two inches over him forced him to look up to her too he would joke as he stood 6'6" tall while she at 6'8".
For a time she was gone from home which pained him to not see her and be around like they always would, but then a day came where his father asked him to go find her and follow the direction of the moon at the Witching hour and there he will find her and check on her. This confused Scyber, yet concerned him as well and he would gather some supplies for his travels during nightfall for the sunlight was very blinding to his eyes just as it was for Drow, and he could see much better at night where as most other races of the world could not which gave him the advantage.
