Located in Los Angeles. Gaming grognard, started in the 1970's. Interested in playing:
2nd ed Chaosium Runequest ("Classic") in Glorantha (NOT 7th edition!)
Rogue Trader FFG (I also have a conversion of this to run with BRP, if anyone's interested.)
A BRP-based Cyberpunk game (references available)
Zaibatsu Cyberpunk RPG (based on Traveller)
Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing 1st ed (not Enemy Within, which I'm still playing through)
Call of Cthulhu: By Gaslight, 1920's, WW1, WW2, or Cold War ("Berlin 61"), but NOT 7th edition
Pulpy-Action, based on BRP/Call of Cthulhu. Crimson Skies, Sky Captain, Indiana Jones types of games. Not superheroes. A good book for this would be the Astounding Adventures monograph book published by Chaosium, driven by BRP. NOT the 7th edition Pulp Cthulhu rules.
1st ed AD&D (in Judges Guild's Wilderlands/City States, Mystara, Midkemia, Blackmoor, Lankhmar, Oriental Adventures, Spelljammer, Dragonlance, Middle Earth, Thieves World, or Barsoom -- references available). I would also try the Classic Fantasy, Chaosium BRP monograph (NOT the re-written Mythras edition), with one of these settings.
A BRP-based Middle Earth. I recommend Age of Shadow, a Chaosium monograph. Or one of the fan conversions available from BRP Central (references available).
A game set in Brust's Dragaera, possibly the era of The Phoenix Guard (aka The Three Musketeers). Possibly using 1st ed AD&D, or BRP. (references available)
Classic Traveller (somewhere in the canon Third Imperium or environs). Please no assassinating my Emperor or releasing a computer virus that brings down civilization! I'd also be interested in either EC Tubb's Dumarest setting (for which I have a nice summary document available), or Andre Norton's Free Traders / Scouts / Rangers universe (for which I have someone’s rpg-ish write-up available). Or maybe even David Brin's Uplift Wars; there was a GURPS book...
Gamma World 1st ed (or 2nd) / Metamorphosis Alpha 1st ed
Fading Suns 2nd ed (or ported to BRP or Classic Traveller)
Old editions of Stormbringer, or Hawkmoon. Or Corum.
FASA Star Trek 1st/2nd
Space 1889, probably ported to BRP or Classic Traveller
Hackmaster's Original Edition
If you're interested in offering to run an old-school game that's not listed above, please contact me. Thanks!
