I literally grew up playing D&D. Starting at my brother's table at 6 years old and continuing to this day. In my 30+ years of being a GM, I have written many of my own stories, played numerous systems, and built entire games. I am comfortable showing new players the ropes including children as young as 6 years old, which I have done with my own children as well as my nephews. Additionally, I am comfortable running games with people of all ages that are neurodivergent. It may take a little extra patience and encouragement but it is wonderful to see players come out of the shell and really get into their character. As a GM, nothing is more satisfying than a player that really immerses themselves in their character.
