The tavern keep notices you looking out at the man sitting on the porch.
"One early morn', he trudged in, kicked the arse of the men harassin' me barmaid, and he's jus' been mullin around since.. its comin' on 2 weeks now and he hasn't talked to no-one save myself an her when asking fer ale.. even though he helped me, my patience is runnin' out. I'll give you a free round if you ask him to leave. I dont want no trouble with the man, but his freeloading is over."
During his time in this town Accos preferred to be alone and with his drink. He would come to the aid of those that needed help and that couldn't help for themselves; if it was early enough in the day for sobriety. Acco isn't altruistic, but he seems to understand that kith in debt is more useful than not - especially those in a position to provide for him. His provocative attitude and behavior have started to promote a quiet hostility from the townsmen - so he has decided to leave.
Overhearing your conversation from across the room, he now approaches your party, asks where you are headed, and what you think of sharing some of that ale.
