Playing D&D since the late 90's now, I started with 3rd edition which I much enjoyed, playing and DMing several games; I even have written one. I skipped 3.5 and had a glance at 4th. I think this took the magic out of D&D and was very glad to see that WotC changed their mind in direction of more role playing with 5th. A nice set of rules.

I don't like power gaming, just seeking to get more treasure, the better item, and the even better numbers. I appreciate having a consistent exciting story, and I like neat maps and a good table top equipment. I played using maptools (http://www.rptools.net/) and recently discovered roll20. I especially like the vision/lighting feature.
