Experience in RL RPG's. New to online role playing. Looking forward to VTT experiences.
I don't like g rated fantasy and I don't play fantasy for g rated themes. If that's your cup of tea, enjoy its blandness.
I like dark themes with truly villainous characters and gritty anti- heroes that flirt with darkness themselves.
I have a preference for low fantasy, low magic campaigns, where skills and role-playing, along with intelligent decisions dictate survival versus the entire , " cast fireball, healbot, and tank decked out in +3 full plate and shield bullshit."
That's not to say I've anything against magic and fantasy, only that it becomes redundant once it's expected at every turn.
I like intrigue , espionage, diplomacy, deception, and playing chaotic and neutral characters as they're meant to be; that is to say, not stupidly, but as the ultimate pragmatists. Yes, I'll kidnap the mayor's children if that's what it takes to get the town to the negotiating table. Yes, I'll seek diplomacy with the green dragon holed up in that desolate swamp, if it'll save the community. No , just because your noble guardsman is a good fellow doesn't mean he's the right leader for the scouting party.
I like to play roguish characters(obviously), but also enjoy Clerics from the trickery domain, anti-hero fighters, Freedom fighter style barbarians, Eco terrorist druids, feral wood elf rangers, and enchantment/illusionist arcane spellcasters.
Of course, everything's better with a dip in rogue, but, you get the idea.
