I've been playing tabletop RPGs since 2001. I began with D&D 3/3.5e and now predominately play D&D 5e. Along the way I have also played and or picked up Dark Heresy, Paranoia, Pathfinder, Shadowrun (4e), Victoriana and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition - my personal favourite fantasy RPG).
When I am playing, have a preference to give my characters high charisma irrespective of class - for example my Minotaur Barbarian diplomat named Roger Skullcrusher ("My name is Roger Skullcrusher, envoy of the Minotaur people. I have a preference for words, but should you brook aggression I will have no qualms resorting to swords!"). Two characters that I have always wanted to make are a goblin samurai and a gnoll bounty hunter (probably a ranger, but I could make most D&D classes work for it).
As a DM, I do my best to be an enabler and approach situations and players' desires from the perspective of how they can be/do things. For example, in Campaign 2016™ (I name our campaigns after the year we start them in, they are not actually trademarked) there is an NPC talking doorhandle that was liberated from a door to a wizard's tower.
Finally, I am based in GMT +9:30 - that's Australian Central Standard Time for those playing along at home.
