30 year old Utah guy (not Mormon) who enjoys dabbling into all sorts of nerdy shit. I was first introduced to tabletop RPGs when I was 20 and observed a group of my college mates play a session of D&D 4E. I immediately fell in love with the game and made a character for the next session and never looked back. My time in the Air Force put a stint in my D&D career though. Didn't meet too many people interested in RPGs in the aircraft maintenance field. A couple. But not enough at one time to get any sessions going. I dabbled into some forum based RPGs to get my fix, but it wasn't really the same.
Anyways, since my re-entry into civilian life I have dove back in and have played through a number of campaigns both official modules and homebrew, am GMing two games (TotYP and WDH) and finished GMing a homebrew campaign not too long ago. I love both role-playing and combat in close to equal measure, but have to give a slight edge to role-playing. Doing different voices, quirks, mannerisms, and personalities for my characters is a joy and helps me get that much more into character. I've played a variety of roles, but generally enjoy melee combat, so even my magic, support and stealth characters have typically had a significant melee component to them. It's just not visceral enough unless my imaginary character is staring my imaginary opponent in the eyes as he twists that imaginary sword in his imaginary guts. ;)
