I have been playing tabletop games for a few years now. I started out rough and inexperienced, but I believe that I have grown as a roleplayer and would make a fine addition to most groups. Most of my roleplaying experience has come through online play, but I do have experience as a DM for my friends in real life. I put much greater emphasis on actual roleplaying over meta-gaming and combat-centric games, although I would make exceptions for games where much of the roleplaying and enjoyment comes from the combat itself. I prefer to early on weekends since they seem to be the time where most people have free. Although most weekdays I should be able to sacrifice three or four hours for a game if they are later in the night. I am in my final year of high school so I won't be able to play on weekdays between 8:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Of course, during school breaks my schedule will be more flexible.
My most memorable gaming experience was during a one-shot of a FFG Star Wars game. I was playing with another guy I hadn't met before, and the GM whom I had played a couple games with already. The other player and I were Nautolan Jedi during the early times of the Empire. We were barely padawans when Order 66 was enacted. I was old enough to have a lightsaber, but my brother was not. So we were on Ilum in hopes of finding a crystal for my brother. The Empire must've tracked us to the planet though, and by the time we found a crystal the cave we were in was swarmed with stormtroopers. It was a tense fight, my brother only had a training saber, and I was more of a mystic than an actual fighter. We were able to escape the caves and get to are ship, but that was when the real fight began. The troopers were led by a Twi'lek Inquisitor. She seemed all too eager to add us to her Jedi kill count. What happened next was one of the most intense game fights I had ever experienced. The two of us were barely strong enough to stand up to her. On death's door, I made a last ditch attempt to fling my lightsaber at her. I missed. Yet, the Force was with us. My brother redirected my failed throw right at her, taking her by surprise and finishing her off. Usually I hate games that focus on combat. The intensity of that fight changed the way I saw combat in games. When done right, they can be some of the most enjoyable and intense parts of a campaign.
