Hi! For some reason, I still start to describe myself as a new gamer, but I just realized that I've been playing for 27 years - I guess that doesn't apply anymore! I didn't learn in my teen years when most people did, though, so I don't have as much experience as I feel like I "ought" to have.
So anyway, I'm "just" a player, not a GM/DM/Storyteller. I have the greatest respect and appreciation for what y'all do when you run games! I truly love story-based, character-rich games. I hate character generation in one sense, but I put a lot of love into every character and tend to give them deep backgrounds.
I haven't played that many different games that come up on the lists here, but I am always up for learning something new. I spent 10+ years playing in a homebrew campaign my former partner ran, and I've played Shadowrun, Werewolf, Mage, D&D (3.x and 5e), Dresden Files, Firefly/Serenity, Amber, Victoriana, Good Society, 7th Sea, and some of the indie story games that aren't listed here like PrimeTime Adventures. I would dearly love to find a Blue Rose game - I haven't played it, but I want to!
