Hello!
My name is Tyler. I'm a 40 year old tabletopper with a long history of pen and paper games. I teach high school English and have a sincere passion for complex and interesting characters and rich, nuanced, and illuminating storytelling. I've always found the roleplaying aspects of D&D, Mage, VTR, Apocalypse World, Pathfinder, and other P&P games to be the draw for me as a player. Combat is well and good, but dramatic moments with (N)PCs, and the beauty of communal storytelling is what keeps me coming back to these games. In terms of characters, I'm open to playing anything—I love roleplaying as an opportunity to explore the headspace of different beings. If I had to nail down an archetype though, I find that I tend toward playing characters that are somehow misunderstood or seen as pariahs for some reason or another.
At table I'll bring my commitment of time, energy, and attention for the duration of play, and I also know that I'll spend hours outside of playtime considering next steps and interesting moves for my character to make. I think of myself as a generous player, pleased to say "yes, and," to create a mutually entertaining experience for the table, and to ensure that my desire to make my character shine doesn't hinder others' opportunities to do so as well.
