Who Am I?
I am a married, 35 year old man, a professor/geographer, and an educational technologist. I specialize in cartography, GIS, parks management, and am currently working on virtual and augmented reality games to help kids learn about the environment.
Gaming
I love games of all sorts, but particularly enjoy tabletop, and have been playing in or running Dungeons and Dragons campaigns since the late 1990s. Originally, I was taught to play by my Mom and Dad using the AD&D system. I enjoy all sorts of campaigns, from dungeon crawls to highly political or rogue-style games.
Characters
I like to play lots of different types of characters, but prefer those that I can play intelligently (the sword and board fighter is not usually my go-to). In terms of combat, I have a special place in my heart for playing casters and agile fighters. In terms of roles, I gravitate towards social characters or those that are good at investigating/problem-solving.
Group Dynamics
The best campaigns I have played in had players who were interested in group storytelling - as such, everyone made room for each other at the table and were interested in the development of the other characters in the group as much as their own.
