I started roleplaying back in 1986 with the classic Maelstrom before moving on the Red Box (Mentzer) D&D. After leaving school I hooked up with a local group playing AD&D 1st Edition and have, essentially, never looked back. I have everything from there to 5e (including Pathfinder, Fantasy Craft, Arcana Evolved and a few other offshoots) but my favourite is probably 2nd Edition.
I have an interest (read obsession) with game mechanics and rules - not in rules lawyer way but in a design way - and have self-published by own system, though I have a lot more material for it than has yet seen the light of DriveThruRPG. I pretty much never play any game "vanilla" (ie RAW) but tweak to fix what I see as problems (don't get me started on D&D 5e).
I mainly use Roll20 for home-based face-to-face games but this may be changing. One day, I hope to start streaming games over Twitch.
After poking at the "Enjoys Playing" section I have realised that I should also mention my obsessive collection fetish regarding game systems. I own a lot. Far more than I have ever had the chance to play.
