Tabletop RPer for roughly ten years now. Tends toward good characters, but not always. I always try to do three things in a tabletop group: A. to try a character class or build that I have not before. If I am trying the same class, it's usually approached in a different way. B. to cooperate with the group and avoid inter-character conflict at all costs unless it cannot be avoided by my character's personality. C. to play a character that has something interesting or memorable about them, if only to try and improve my skill at writing, which was my motivation to get into the hobby.
I tend to enjoy a fairly RP-oriented campaign, but I also enjoy a healthy dose of the rules - though I'm not legalistic in that sense. On the occasions I do play evil, I will always swear never to betray or harm the party for any reason save for self-defense. Whether a gleaming knight or a mustache-twirling scoundrel, I want to see the party through the story just as much as I want to survive.
