I've been playing various versions of D&D since Advanced 2nd Edition days. I played quite a bit of 2nd edition World of Darkness games for a time, as well. And I dabbled here and there in various other games that sadly never lasted more than a session or two (Shadowrun, Earthdawn, Call of Cthulhu to name a few). I play in a weekly "in the flesh" Pathfinder game, and recently started playing in a monthly one as well. But the more the merrier, right?
I play because I enjoy having stories to share amongst a group of people. Sometimes funny, epic, or just tales of terribly bad luck. My favorite ones usually end up a mix of all 3. I tend to invest pretty heavily in my character's backstories and try to avoid the feeling that my character is just a collection of numbers I'm pushing against someone else's collection of numbers. I'm definitely a team player and go out of my way to avoid stealing someone's thunder or spotlight. That said, I'm also not opposed to a little antagonism or shenanigans, as long as it's fun and doesn't get in the way of other players' enjoyment of the game. There's no point in playing a collaborative game if only one person's having any fun.
I'm looking to meet some fellow gamers, and if you're willing to teach me a new system I am 100% open to that. In fact, I'd love it.
