Bio

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my bio.

WHY ROLE PLAY:
What I love most about role playing games (RPG)s is putting myself in someone else's shoes. Then thinking what they would do, not what I would do.

I enjoy being both a DM and a player. Being the DM is fun and a rewarding way to the play the game. As a DM you get to play the role of 100s of different characters. The DM also gets to play the role of non-humanoid creatures that can have totally different world view of morality and value systems.

PHILOSOPHY:
My DMing philosophy is very straight forward. There are many ways to DM wrong and only one way to get it right. The main goal of the DM is to make sure the players are having a good time. It can take years of practice and in-depth knowledge of the rules to be a successful DM. Many home brew DMs start to see themselves as game designers and start to pile on "home rules" that break the game for the PCs. One of the best ways to understand how a DM will run a game is to take note of their "house rules" during character creation. A DM who arbitrarily restricts a player's choice during character creation, will tend to be a DM who takes the role of adversary, as opposed to story teller. Arbitrarily restrictions should not be confused with campaign setting character restrictions.

The DM has be to able to read the table as some of the players might want difficult and demanding challenges, while others might want to play it more safe with still have a chance of success. Some players might like a high grit one week and the next session they might want to relax a bit.

Every good DM has many players who gave feedback over the years to help them perfect their craft. Players can also help the DM by bringing energy and enthusiasm to the table. There is nothing better than a group of players who think of solutions a DM did not consider.

HAVE BOOKS, WILL TRAVEL:
I'm up for really any game or any game system I have been playing since I was in grade school basic D&D black box. I have extensive experience with D&D 5E adventures league, D&D 3/3.5, D&D 1st/2nd, Basic D&D rules compendium ,Shadow Run 2nd, MechWarrior 1st/2nd, Dark Heresy 2nd edition, White Wolf vampire/werewolf and Operation: Perfect Blue.

I'm also up for board and cards games. Battletech, Blood bowl, Axis and Allies, Munchkin or Talisman.

I also enjoy talking, sharing ideas or simply debating. God's gift of communication is so many times wasted on people who talk at each other rather than with each other or worst over each other.
