About Me Personally:
I'm a first year medical student who enjoys spending my free time playing video games with friends and riding motorcycles with my family.
My D&D Opinions/History:
I've been playing 5th edition for little more than a year, and have done a significant amount of reading/research. I prefer weekend games that meet on a weekly basis. Honestly, I don't mind playing shorter campaigns, but I would really enjoy finding a long-term group with a focus on character driven group narrative. I like to write in my free time, and thoroughly enjoy it when a DM takes my story and puts their own personal spin on it.
I see d&d as a tool for cooperative storytelling, and prefer preserving narrative flow over enforcing RAW when applicable. That being said, I do prefer DMs with an extensive knowledge of the rules, just because it avoids conflict when players think they know better. I think in-fighting and character conflicts are excellent sources of drama in appropriate moderation, but players should actively cooperate to find a fitting resolution. After all, d&d is a team game and too much fighting completely derails the story.
I typically play neutral or good aligned characters of varying lawfulness, but my favorite alignment is chaotic good. I prefer to play martial fighter classes, but do have experience with casters. As a player, I enjoy groups with a democratic dynamic where each player is willing to offer their opinion most of the time and majority rules. I also like groups where all of the players actively investigate the other PCs and care to learn more about their traveling companions.
