Experienced RPG player who enjoys playing out-there character concepts. No humans or dwarves or tieflings for me, gotta get out there with my seven-headed hydra with one personality per head. Looking for games...basically anything other than D&D 5e, Cthulhu, or Warhammer could work for me; though many old-school games use anti-fun rules that ruin the experience for me, I've found exceptions. It's pretty frustrating when I browse the LFG forums and see endless pages of pay-to-play 5e adventure paths when I wouldn't want to sit through a 5e adventure path even if I were the one being paid — I have some pretty strong opinions on 5e, but suffice to say that it has a deny-by-default design that I dislike in principle. Homebrew can offset that, but I feel that "can't" is more suited to wargame or board game rules than RPG rules, and yet 5e is built with that word at its center.
