I'm still somewhat new to D&D, and still ask questions as there's so much to learn and remember.

I'm looking for a consistent weekly 5E game with players who are committed to being there, attentive & engaged for/in the games (and not playing while at work or distracted by other things, facebook, youtube, etc.) and I have a few preferences:

  • A mature group and DM
  • High fantasy & magic - yes please.
  • Very much prefer a game that balances exploration, fights, a little downtime, you know kinda brings in a little of everything to the game and isn't just constant battles, or heavily strategic. I'm not a war general and don't wanna be one LOL.
  • I like Roleplay, sometimes can be prankish, don't mind a shopping trip or two to get to know the people. But I also like getting to the killing the bad guy stuff!
  • Prefer games that are based on printed modules, or well written (heavy emphasis on well written) homebrew stories that leave you enough breadcrumbs to follow, but not railroaded or puppet mastered and are not super slow or super speedy paced.
  • A group where loot is fairly distributed when found. I don't wanna deal with greedy players.
  • A party where the members do not yell or talk over each other, or make it difficult to impossible for a person to try to do an action they want to do or their character would do. Basically no limelight thieves, action/attention whores, lets make sure everyone gets a chance to try to do what they want to do please.

Please NO:
- R Rated D&D, I have Netflix for that. I don't mind if relationships form or intimacy happens so long as all players involved are ok with it, but beyond "The players retreat to their bedrooms for the night..." I really don't wanna be involved in or watch intimate roleplay happen.
- I refuse to be involved in campaigns or plots that involve drugs or sexual violence (you know what I mean here) I just want nothing to do with it at all.
- Point buy (ugh) I'm only interested in regular rolling and drop the lowest kind of games.
- Super shy, quiet, slow players. I get shyness, but when it's your turn or someone asks your character's opinion if it takes you 7-10 seconds or longer to begin to reply, every time.... and then you barely speak "Uhhhhhhhmmmmmmm, I don't know." <- I just can't, sorry.
- Out of the ordinary rules that make the game too slow, frustrating or difficult to enjoy such as "Gritty Realism" rest times, adding mana back into the game (spell slots are fine, run smoother and are easier to keep up with) I guess this means I mostly prefer vanilla rules.
- Anime, Vampire worlds, Zombie apocalypse, Space theme, Heavily "tribal" worlds, Worlds with little or no magic. (This is my escape from the mundane reality, please...PLEASE bring on the interesting character races, classes, creatures, spells, magic, and fantasy!)
** Note: I truly like lots of ideas and don't mind well done homebrew, but I'm looking for worlds that feel mostly vanilla and high fantasy LOTR or Critical Role style, traditional D&D themes with magic and varied races and or creatures. I don't mind killing zombies on occasion or having a vampire, or alien party member etc, but I'll pass on playing in anime worlds or a D&D version of Walking Dead or Star Wars etc. **

I am available Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings after 7PM Pacific (PST) and prefer to end by no later than 3AM PST. I'm a night owl.

Some info about what I play / like to play / experience.
I have some experience and have a homebrew half merfolk/ half human Rogue player in one game, and a High Elf Ranger in a second game off Roll20 that I play in with a few friends.

I currently have stayed away from magic casters just because I'm still learning or getting used to things, but I've looked at some magic classes and wouldn't mind checking those out. I do like interesting races, but I like being very careful about making sure a character I play isn't overpowered. To me, if it's too easy then it's not fun, and I feel like having varied classes who each do well at certain things makes the gameplay more team dynamic, immersive and fun. I don't want to hog all the action or be OP, and am seeking a game with similar minded people.

I tend to like to start my characters younger (barely legal adults) who are forming their lives / stories as the party adventures. Sure there's usually some decent backstory, but I really like seeing who the character grows into being as a result of gameplay. I feel like it keeps the character a little naive and open to trying different things and unaware of the world, so things feel exciting and interesting as exploration happens and innocence is lost.

I tend to steer away from heavily religious or deity focused characters, it just turns me off personally. I gravitate toward elves, or more unique races, not for the added racial bonuses, but because I like the uniqueness it brings. Racial bonuses are always fun though.

So.. now about me. I'm late 40's (GASP, yep I'm "mature" by this I mean old-er LOL than most people I know who are into this sort of thing. I tend to choose to be in mature groups because I connect better with people who are mature and not consumed by memes and social media, and acting like fools. This of course does not always mean older people, you know? I'm a straight female, but am tolerant, accepting & understanding of LGBTQ-LMNOP folks (<- as I call it all the letters etc. No disrespect or anything. I just feel like LGBTQ doesn't cover the plethora of society and the labels people are either given or choose for themselves.)

I have discord and use it for voice because Skype bogs my pc down hard. I play games like WoW, older Sims versions, Minecraft, and really enjoy mucking around with my graphics program, I don't create character or people art.. that is just beyond my scope. I like reading books. My favorite series is Outlander, been reading/following it since the early 90's but I also like Harry Potter, Twilight, Game of Thrones, Hunger Games, and many others. I enjoy movies of many types, loads of TV shows, I'm not at all into anime/manga, that sort of thing. I really enjoy fantasy, magic, medieval worlds etc. But I also enjoy some modern day or time travel (just really not doctor who), and supernatural stuff. I'm Wiccan in the real world so that's an interest for me too.

When I voice, you may frequently think someone let a pirate in the room... by this, of course I mean.. my curse words flow freely, and I do not moderate them. You've been warned, and need to be able to accept this. I also often talk at characters I am killing in games, much to the delight of others who think it's hilarious to hear me calling imps or demons horrible things, and telling them "Good dead ugly, Stay!" so I might be a little odd if you've never experienced this sort of thing before. :P

I don't do real pics or video. I don't own a webcam, plus internet security and all.
