An important question I'll always ask my players, or myself when making characters is why? Actions should always be rooted in reason; a simple justification can alter a person's perception of a character. Anyway, hello! Welcome to my profile, i guess if i had to describe myself it'd be as follows.
As a GM, my focus being collaborative storytelling, I prefer tales of choice, and sacrifice. I tend to maneuver my games away from combat, but instead focus on other action-based encounters. I love seeing players put effort into creating something more than a block of stats, and I find myself further intrigued in hearing about potential story arcs, relationships, or growths they may develop. I personally am not a Rules guy despite my long stint as a GM, I hate getting bogged down during an intense scene with mechanical discussion. I try my hand at a variety of voices, some better than others, but rarely are they perfect. If you're looking to join a game of mine i enjoy you creating a world around your character. What they like, people in their life, and what ambitions they have/are moving towards. I ask for that due to the nature of my run-style. My games have their own plots, but I try my best to involve aspects of each character's life in them to root their interest and drive.
As a player, I take my game time seriously, I put a lot into my characters and i hope that is shown through their personalities. I'm one for open information, I'm not a meta gamer, but knowing certain things can help make plot points and character development feel more natural. I get excited about stories that show player agency and give time for players to explore their character's desires as well. I prefer making bonds with my fellow party mates. I'm not a fan of the starting not knowing anybody trope. My favorite thing to do as a player is develop my character through dialogue and action and seeing how they've changed over the course of a campaign.
