Old (Really really old) time gamer dating back to the original white box set in nineteen seventy*cough*. Started to GM in High School and have been at it ever since though I enjoy sitting back and playing just as well. Former RPGA GM and module author. Wrote, play-tested and edited for several companies in the 80's and have played far too many game systems over the years. Former MiB for SJG and a GM at numerous cons around the country. Now in semi-retirement but still enjoy a good game!
I run and look to participate in story driven games where the narrative take precedence over mechanics. I look at a campaign as cooperative story-telling first and that is reflected in my games. Heroic actions bring heroic rewards and discord at the table brings pain. At the end of the day, it's still a game and friends old and new should remain such. I usually run games with a defined story arc with lots of room for side trips and shennanigans as long as we don't lose track of the big picture. I tend to be generous and want to see players become heroes. In most cases, you'll have to if you want to survive... (Dun dun dunnnnn).
I'm happy to chat with anyone about a game, old game systems, war stories, and to reminisce/wax on about the good/bad old days of RPGs. Don't be shy, drop me a line!
